After Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski was wined and dined Tuesday night with the first Executive of the Year Award from The Sporting News, manager Jim Leyland received a lunchtime surprise Wednesday. He didn't win AL Manager of the Year, but he finished second to Tampa Bay's Joe Maddon, and he got a first-place vote.
